eiStream als neues Dach der Eastman Software
DALLAS – Effective immediately, workflow and imaging software vendor Eastman Software will be known as eiStream WMS, Inc. ( http://www.eistream.com ) The newly named company will continue to operate out of its corporate head-quarters in Billerica, MA, with the existing worldwide management team intact. Following the acquisition from Eastman Kodak by a division of eiStream, Inc., Eastman Software retained its trading name for a transitional period. During this time, the company seamlessly continued to enhance its business operations and develop the Investment Protection Program, designed to support customers throughout the software life cycle. Strategically placed under the eiStream, Inc. umbrella as the high-tier, scalable, business process automation software provider, eiStream WMS, Inc. is teamed with ViewStar, Kofile, Inc., Spectrum Data, Inc., and various foreign affiliates. Nach mehrjährigem Versuch, auf dem deutsch-sprachigen Workflowmarkt Fuss zu fassen, hatte sich Eastman Software zwischenzeitlich wieder zurück-gezogen und sich in Europa auf die skandinavischen Länder konzentriert (zuletzt behandelt im Newsletter 20010903Newsletter 20010903). Unter neuem Dach erfolgt nun die Rückkehr. Die Produktpolitik erfolgt mehrgleisig, zum einen werden die alten Produkte weitergeführt, eine offizielle Aussage zur Integrationspolitik war auf der DMS Expo-Messe leider nicht zu erhalten. Zum zweiten wird in den kommenden Tagen mit Sonora ein neues Workflowprodukt in der Betaversion auf den Markt gebracht. Der Ansatz der neuen Lösung macht auf den ersten Blick einen guten Eindruck, besitzt allerdings noch einiges Entwicklungs-potential. Mit Sonora stellt sich allerdings die Frage, welche Produkte der neuen Dachgesellschaft letztendlich zusammen-geführt werden. (MF)
